Primer session [WED Nov 18 | 6:30 - 8:30pm] - before main course
This session is highly recommended for those who are new to 3DE technology or for
users seeking a refresher before the course begins. It will introduce participants to the
analysis software tools and provide a step-by-step framework for analyzing 3DE
datasets, using straightforward yet clinically relevant cases to demonstrate the standard
workflow employed throughout the remainder of the two-day course. The primer session
will prepare users for the cropping sessions associated with the course, where some
prior familiarity with 3DE analysis is expected.
"On-Cart" Cropping Session [FRI Nov 20 | 7 - 9pm] - after main course
This session introduces practitioners to 3DE TEE in the Cath lab (covering common
workflows such as right heart hemodynamics and ASD device closure) and the
operating room (simple to complex post-op valve repair scenarios). Participants will
learn rapid image acquisition and analysis, review common echo artifacts, and receive
step-by-step workflow guidance. The session is limited to 10 participants, with 2
participants per ultrasound platform to enhance the practical learning
experience.
Advanced Session [FRI Nov 20 | 7 - 9pm] - after main course
This session, held at the end of the two days course is for confident or experienced
users who wants to challenge themselves. The format is a user working through a
"real-life" clinical case with minimal guidance, utilizing both 2DE and 3DE
datasets. The facilitator will demonstrate a suggested approach at the end of each case
for discussion. The clinical scenarios are complex, such as DORV, complex valves and
unusual anatomy. Not for one faint of heart!
We are pending accreditation by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. A certificate will be provided to participants after the event. Make sure to fill out our feedback survey to get your certificate.
