We have two Schwinn Meridian Adult Tricycles. Their names are Secretariat and Seabiscuit. Their primary role is to help the mailroom staff carry mail from building to building.
This summer the bikes will be located:
One on the bike rack outside of the CVO Mailroom
One on the rack in front of NCH
One U-Bolt Bike Lock
One U-Bolt Bike Chain
One U-Bolt Bike Lock Key
One Headlight
One Headlight Tension Band
One Power Source
One Charger
The U-Bolt Lock and chain should always be wrapped around the bike frame and tire
The Headlight and Power sources should not be left on the bike outside or overnight
The Charger should never go with the bike and should stay inside
Watch this video to learn how to properly use a U-Bolt Lock and Chain. (Watch from 0:00 to 1:16)
Because of the size of the bike, you can utilize the U-Bolt through the back tire and use the U-Bolt Chain by wrapping the chain around the frame of the bike (pulling on end's loop through the other's ends loop), and connecting the loop to the U-bolt chain
HRL Bikes should not be on the main roads around the university. You are able to get across campus utilizing the bike lanes of the main university paths.

Because this bike is an optional resource and a communal resource you are responsible for the providing of a helmet if you wish to use one
These tricycles are larger, heavier, and build up momentum faster than your average bike. They take a longer to break, so anticipate ahead when you need to stop.
It will be important to make sure you are familiar and comfortable with the bike before going across campus.
If you are completely unfamiliar with how to ride a bike, schedule a time to check out the bike and work with someone in the department knowledgeable.
If there is an issue or concern with the bike before, during, or after your use, please report that immediately so that the department can address the concern.
Contact your Supervisor or the Pro On Duty if you need to reserve the use of the bike
