Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is an honor society for students—particularly undergraduates—dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.
Members gain access to research grants, publishing opportunities, and awards not available anywhere else.
Members receive discounted subscription to Tribeta’s official academic journal, BIOS.
Members have the opportunity to meet fellow students + researchers from other colleges and present research at the Annual District Convention and at the Biennial National Convention.
Members have the chance to network with other biology students and professors at UAH.
Members receive free stuff, including honors cords that can be worn at graduation.
Regular and Graduate memberships are for life.

Regular Membership
Must be a Biology Major
Must have a GPA of 3.0 in Biology courses
Sophomore standing
Must have taken at least 3 Biology Courses at UAH
Must been in good academic standing
$55 processing fee*
Lifetime membership
Eligible to hold office within TriBeta/BioSoc
Will graduate with honors cord (plus, you will receive an official certificate!)
Associate Membership
No required GPA
No credit requirement
All majors accepted
$45 processing fee
Membership ends upon graduation (unless promoted to regular membership)
May participate in local activities and hold chair positions, but cannot hold officer positions
Eligible to hold Education Outreach or Social Media Chair positions
Graduate Membership
Must be a graduate student currently enrolled in a Life Science
May participate in local activities for any chapter, but cannot hold an officer position or participate in voting for said positions
$55 processing fee
May attend district or national conventions
These members are not eligible for undergraduate awards
Are not required to earn annual points for active membership
Chapter or Club Honorary Members
May be elected by the chapter in recognition of significant accomplishment as biologists or of outstanding service to the chapter/club.
BIOS Subscriptions
Regular, graduate, and honorary members receive 2-year BIOS subscriptions
New associate and promoted members receive 1-year BIOS subscriptions
Alumni members receive individual BIOS subscriptions for no charge
