My art takes on a story-telling approach inspired from personal experiences from childhood onward. Some of my sculptures can take on a surrealistic style, by recreating dreams, nightmares, and memories. I take inspiration from personal experience and a troubled childhood to create a sense of empathy. In my sculptures, an innocent object turns sinister. They have a sense of melancholy, abandonment and disarray. These feelings are especially present in my dioramas, that represents a place that can never be returned to. Many of my pieces have an open ended narrative, leaving the viewer to wonder what happened or what is yet to come. My goal is for the viewer to connect to my art aesthetically, and more importantly, emotionally and physically. It essential for emotion to be embedded into my sculptures so that these feelings flow through to others. As my work grows, both technically and conceptually, I will always find joy in making because my practice constantly changes with my personal experience.
