Public speaking or performing in front of an audience is a common but nerve-racking experience, regardless of size or experience level.
The best preparation is repeated exposure, but it’s difficult to realistically recreate such environments or find audiences to practice with.
This lack of practice opportunities leaves many people underprepared, increasing anxiety and reducing performance quality.
VR provides accessible, realistic practice spaces and simulated audiences for repeated exposure to performance situations.
It allows users to experience varied scenarios, including high-pressure or distracting environments, to build confidence and reduce anxiety.
Its immersive nature effectively replicates the spatial, social, and psychological aspects of real performances better than traditional methods.
We propose Virtual Presentation Prepper, a VR application that allows users to practice public speaking and performance in a highly customizable virtual environment. Users will be able to adjust key aspects of the simulation, including room size, audience behavior, and performance tools, to better prepare for real-world scenarios.
