Successfully addressed major bugs
Finalized view layouts and object formatting
Formalized user testing parameters and expectations, which will be conducted before Wednesday, 12/09
Final Goals: complete user testing and final report; present finished product and findings
Began development of web application
Major bugs include converting canvas image to image data that can be saved to the database, saving post objects to database from the painting view, and formatting the gallery view
Goals for next week: fix major bugs, continue to develop the application
With confirmation from Dr. Bai, switching project to a web-based application
Will include the same proposed functionality (i.e. image creation/upload, sign in, sharing images)
Images and user data will be stored in a database (likely SQL)
Image creation ("painting") will utilize an HTML canvas
Goals for next week: research new relevant technologies, begin development
Still working on getting tunnel model paint-able
Considering switching from a 3D modeled tunnel (Unity) to a 2D modeled tunnel (likely web-based) to make development simpler
Goals for next week: decide on whether to continue with a 3D modeled tunnel, redirect efforts towards a 2D model, some other (simpler) option
Make tunnel model paint-able
Finalize camera of player controller
Implement paintbrush UI to player controller (likely ray cast)
Increase familiarity with C#, Unity
Goals for next week: Prototype of single-player, painting functionality in tunnel
Completed model of the tunnel using Onshape
Created player and camera controller
Goals for next week: Integrate painting tool and player controls with our model of tunnel
Gained familiarity with Unity, Unity Hubs
Set up Unity Collaborations for Version Control
Researched painting tool packages, found a free one on the Unity Hubs store
Goals for next week: Create 3D model of tunnel and integrate that with painting tool, create player controls
Developed survey and interview questions to gain a better understanding of what our users hope and expect from our project
Conducted three interviews and received 10 survey participants, and presented findings in our Midterm Report (shown to the right)
Created a low-fidelity prototype, personas, a user case, a storyboard, volere shells, and user flow diagrams
Goals for next week: Begin development of tunnel in Unity, and research painting tools and user controls
