At the beginning stages of planning, I wasn't considering making a Facebook event, to specifically target those who are in the library at that specific point in time. However, I realized that when making my LOGIC model, there may be the barrier of individuals not being willing to take a break from their studies to join us in a meditation. With this, I created my Facebook event as a way to increase attendance. In addition, I reached out to groups such as Active Minds, Phi Sigma Sigma, and worked along-side Satsang Meditation Club to promote this event and get helpers for the event itself.
During the week of the meditation pop-up events, the flyer on the right was handed out to each individual who participated in the guided meditation. To reach the larger student population, this flyer was also displayed on school computer desktops for the rest of the semester. During this event too, they were also given a bookmark and another mindfulness flyer with the aim to increase one's motivation to take-up mindfulness habits and a regular meditation practice.
After the first event held in Q&i, I decided to create a small promotional handout located at the bottom of this page. This was designed to improve attendance at the meditation events, as they would be placed on desks throughout Gleason and ITS to notify individuals ahead of time that these events will be happening.
