About Us:

SWE's mission: Stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.

By hosting these workshops we hope to share our experiences from being in STEM fields with the girls in the Rochester community to act as role models and inspire them to be whoever they want to be!

How The Event Works

All girls and chaperones should plan on arriving a few minutes early to pay for tickets (if not already payed for online), and receive a group assignment/ itinerary. The girls and chaperones will then proceed to the main auditorium where there will be a short introduction.

After the introduction, the girls and chaperones will be sent to classrooms to participate in interactive lessons based on Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Optics. The groups will rotate so that everyone can attend each activity.

About halfway through the workshop there will be a short break and allergen-safe snacks will be provided. At the end of the workshop we will gather everyone in the main auditorium for a closing statement.
