Hello! Welcome to my Website!

I am a Senior Optical Engineering Major/Mechanical Engineering Minor at the University of Rochester located in Rochester, NY. In July of 2023, I will beginning a role at Optikos Corporation working as an Optical Engineer.

Below are some of my favorite projects that I am working on/have worked on. However, there are many more things to see on this website.

CNC Laser Engraver: I am designing and building my own CNC Laser (Diode) Engraver. I am doing the mechanical, optical, and electrical design while making thermal considerations. The first revision CAD is available for download now.

Additive Manufacturing of Optical Elements: A research paper that I completed for my Optical Fabrication and Testing course concerning the applicability of additive manufacturing processes to optical fabrication. There will also be research completed concerning the FDM printing of macro optics coming soon (Spring 2023).

Uncertainty Analysis and Innovation of an FDM 3D Printer: This was a final project for my Precision Instrument Design class. We were tasked with analyzing a submodule of a 3D printer and its contribution to the overal positioning precision of the 3D printer, then improving said submodule. An "improvement" was defined as something that improved the precision without increasing the cost or something that added functionality to the printer while mainting the current printing precision.

I enjoy doing these types of projects because they help me to reinforce what I already know and allow me to learn new things and troubleshoot challenging problems. Engineering isn't necessarily about knowing everything going into a problem or project; it is about being able to build upon what you and others know in order to reach a solution.
