About Mr. Yang:

Mr. Yang is currently a senior at Northwestern University studying mathematics, secondary education, business institutions, and human communication sciences.

Prior to coming to Niles North, Mr. Yang worked at Evanston Township High School for two years as an AVID Tutor for all levels of high school math ranging from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus & AP Statistics, a standardized test proctor for the SAT, ACT, AP, MAP, and AAPPL exams, a Substitute Math Paraprofessional for ETHS's Wildkit Academy, and a co-teacher for several SAT/ACT math preparation courses as part of the junior year AVID curriculum. Most recently, he completed his eleven-week pre-student teaching practicum at Maine West High School, where he assisted in two sections of Algebra 1 and three sections of Plane Geometry twice per week and supported students one-on-one and in small groups as they worked through the school's entirely online ALEKS-based curriculum.

5 fun facts about Mr. Yang:

1. I was born in Lanzhou, China and grew up in Shanghai, China and Solon, Ohio (about 30 minutes southeast of Cleveland)
2. I can speak English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese
3. I was born in the late 1990s under China's "One Child Policy," so I am an only child
4. I often let out 5 or more loud, intense sneezes in a row, and I do not know why
5. I am on the Marketing & Media committee for Northwestern University Dance Marathon (the largest student-run philanthropy in the country; we have raised over $18 million since 1975, and ~$1.25 million last year!), and have collectively danced for 90 hours straight (30 hours x 3 years) since at Northwestern. (WHO CAN GUESS WHAT SONG M&M DANCED TO LAST YEAR??)
