I'm a graduate student studying Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning (OPWL) at Boise State University. I have more than twenty years experience as an award-winning corporate video writer/producer/director, and equivalent expertise as an industry recognized IT solutions professional.
After years of writing and producing corporate training videos, I've become aware of its limitations as an effective way to motivate and improve performance. Yet, the heart of the medium – storytelling, its affective nature, its subtle and dynamic ways to focus the viewer's attention still captures my imagination.
My objective is to integrate my storytelling chops with the theories, tools, and practices of Human Performance Technology (HPT) to serve and advance organizational talent development.
During this coming year, as an evangelist for Human Performance Improvement, I will create learning theory-driven interventions for organizations that have identified performance gaps and defined measurable objectives in order to close those gaps.
