"WILDHEARTS Bellingham was formed shortly after I had triple by-pass surgery followed by an emergency angioplasty in February, 2022. I had a heart attack in 2003, which would have been a lot more serious had I not been physically fit. This time, I may very well have died had I not been in shape.
Many in our group have had similar experiences. We came together, along with our caregivers, family members and friends, to support each other in our effort to combat the impact of heart disease by remaining physically active.
Some of us led healthy lifestyles long before having a severe cardiac event. Some just started as a result of having one.
Some run marathons, some walk regularly.
WILDHEARTS Bellingham is all about paying it forward.
Keep Moving!

As part of my work with Wildhearts Bellingham Foundation, I researched, created, and deliver the above presentation on Emergency Response to Cardiac Events. The aim is to educate the community on heart disease and prevention, and in this presentation what to do in the event of an emergency while outside of city limits. In doing so, we also provide an inclusive community space to belong and foster healthy heart habits.
Multiple resources are referred to in the above presentation. Some of those I am able to share are below. All of the disclosures mentioned in the presentation apply.
