Client
Harper is a child who can not make purposeful movements with her hands, she makes decisions by pushing a button with her head. Harper was given a go baby go car that had a button in a place where she could not operate it. She is the client that will use the final product.
Rick Wade is Harper's father and is our main contact on the project. Throughout the project he continually communicated with us about Harper's needs and his hopes for the car.
Detailed Problem Statement
The car overall should be a fun experience for Harper but the main goal is for her to be able to learn cause and effect. The control button needs to be where Harper can hit it with her head because she makes decisions by moving her head and cannot make purposeful movements with her hands. There are no safety precautions in place with the car so something must be added to create a safe way for Harper to sit and be supported; her neck and head need support. The car needs to be able to be shut off by an adult who is watching Harper. The kill switch is in a difficult spot to reach so it must be moved to an easily accessible spot for whoever is watching Harper. The car also has multiple screws exposed which are sharp and need filed down or removed. Additionally, Harper has a constant food source stored in a backpack that needs a place to be stored on the cart.
