WEEKLY ATTENDENCE
W04/26
Over the next two weeks, we plan to order a new e-bike conversion kit to begin transforming our bicycle into a fully functional electric bike. During this time, we will also finalize and complete our Bill of Materials to ensure all required components are accounted for and properly documented. In preparation for the showcase, we will thoroughly clean and detail the bike to improve its overall appearance and presentation quality. Additionally, we will update our project website to reflect recent progress, technical decisions, and upcoming milestones.
Our e-bike conversion kit arrived today, and we carefully unboxed and inspected all of the included components to make sure everything was accounted for and undamaged. We reviewed the motor wheel, controller, throttle, brake levers, display, wiring harnesses, and mounting hardware to familiarize ourselves with how each part connects and functions within the overall system. This initial inspection phase allowed us to better understand the electrical and mechanical layout of the kit before beginning installation. Tomorrow, we will bring in the bike and begin the hands-on assembly process, starting with mounting the motor wheel and planning the placement of the controller and battery.
We found out our e bike rim isn't big enough of the bike because we got a 24 inch rim and the bike wheel was 26 inches. Fake advertising of the bike because we thought it was 24 inches. This is the construct and test part of the Design process because we are trying to build the bike and having problems building it.
We tried to replace the back wheel with the front wheel because the front wheel doesn't have air or a cap. This way we could buy a back motor instead for faster speeds, and faster shipping if we want to switch it.

Our options are to get a new kit or get a new bike. 24 inch rims won't work on the bike because the brakes won't work with it. So we decided to get a new kit since a 26 inch bike would be more comfortable for our height.
Today We packaged the old Ebike Kit and returned it. The return process takes a few days for the refund to come in, so once we get the refund we can order the new Ebike Kit. This is part of the testing and prototyping part of the engineering design process because we are fixing a problem we had, and getting new stuff.
Today we added finishing touches to our bill of materials including links and proof of ordering. We are waiting on one screenshot of the order on the bike since we bought it from facebook marketplace we had to use a parent's devie when ordering it.
Today, we focused on updating our website to ensure that all required sections and documentation are properly included and organized. We reviewed our content to confirm that it meets project guidelines and accurately reflects our progress so far. This step helps maintain a clear record of our work and keeps our presentation materials up to date. We are currently waiting for the refund to be processed before moving forward with purchasing the new e-bike conversion kit.
Our plan is that in 2 weeks we will have our new kit delivered to us. Once it is here we can start assembling the bike, which will take 1-2 weeks to make sure everything is good. After we have the bike ready we need to order the battery and and the parts for the GPS tracker. We plan on doing orders in batches so that we can progress over time without having to wait to order everything at once. the first batch would be the e bike kit, the second would be the gps tracker parts as well as the battery for the bike, and the 3rd batch is the solar panel and miscellaneous items that are needed for certain parts to work well, for example we need the MPPT solar charge convertor in order to use the solar panel in tandem with the battery.

Today we are updating our website to make it better.
We are cleaning up the bike and trying to make it look nice and shiny.
today we filled the bike up with air and made sure there was not a hole in the tire. we also updated the website
Today, we got the refund from the last order of the kit so today we picked out a new kit and ordered it. The new kit is 26" which was what we needed originally. IT will take a few days for the new kit to arrive.

TUESDAY
The back brakes didn't work because the tension wasn't high enough so I had to re-do the wire and cut it so it didn't interfere with anything else. I did have to return the brakes a couple times too because it was either too tight or too loose.
