Areas of Learning and Experience

Mathematics and Numeracy will be taught as a stand alone AoLE. These skills will be consolidated across other AoLEs through the cross curricular skills from the LNF as the driver for this. This is similarly reflected in our Languages, Literacy & Communications curriculum, although there may be opportunities to use a literacy stimulus linked authentically to topics.  

Expressive Arts, Health & Well-being, Humanities and Science & Technology are delivered within projects, where appropriate and meaningful using the concepts to link across AoLEs. The cluster AoLE document will be used as a guide for provision entitlement. These AoLEs should not be blocked, but distributed as appropriate throughout the topic and equitably throughout the year. An opportunity for extended writing must be included in-line with the LNF.
