Twyning School - Newsletter 23.02.2024

This week's news:  Good afternoon everyone! I hope that you all had a good half term break and that Parents Evening appointments have been successful this week. If you have not managed to attend an appointment, please can you contact Mrs Bowen or your child's class teacher to rearrange.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for the wonderful welcome back after my period of absence - it really is so great to be back and I am so grateful for the continued support from so many of you during this difficult time. My particular thanks also go to Mr Davies, Mrs Lowe and the whole school team who have worked diligently to ensure that school has continued to run smoothly and seamlessly - I am so proud of all of their incredible work.

We are all looking forward to a busy yet productive term ahead. Please note that we are in the Ofsted Inspection 'window' and we are expecting them to visit us in the coming weeks or months. They will telephone us to inform us the day before their visit and at that point we will send you further information including a parental survey that they will ask to be completed. As a team, we are looking forward to this long-awaited visit so that we can share all of the school's successes and excellent practice - we are extremely confident that it will be a successful inspection.

world book day dress up

The School Council have asked the children how they would like to celebrate world book day. As there is a lot going on the Thursday, we thought we would give the children the opportunity on the Friday to dress up as their favorite book character OR come to school in comfortable clothes and bring in their favourite book. If you feel you can contribute, please bring £1 or more towards putting on our World Book Day events.

Year 6 Parents - SATs meeting - Tuesday 19th March at 6pm.

We would like to welcome Year 6 parents into school on Tuesday 19th March at 6PM to talk about SATs.

SATs are scheduled to take place in the week beginning the 13th May 2024. We will showing SATs papers from previous years and sharing details of every test that the children will have during the week. As well as this, we will talk about the logistics and routine for the week. We hope you can join us.
