Book club - there will be a maximum of 15 children on a first come first served basis. There will also be a requirement to purchase the book that the children will be reading; the link to buy will be sent to you via a book club group message on the school spider app so please make sure you still have the app downloaded.

Young Voices will take place on Tuesday 9th January as a last practice before the concert on Friday 12th. Any YV children wishing to do Book club can sign up and start in week 2 as Young Voices takes priority in week 1.

The Spring cross country races at the Vineyards (years 4-6) will take place on Thursdays 8th, 22nd and 29th February and there will be a practice at school on 1st February.

swimming lessons (years 2-4)

These start on Thursday 11th January and run every Thursday in terms 3 and 4 (10 weeks). Please can all children come to school in warm PE kit (as changing is easier) and bring swimming costume/shorts, towel and goggles in a drawstring bag.

We need two parent helpers each week to assist with changing. Please email Mrs Bowen as soon as possible so we can form a rota. We particularly welcome those with a current school DBS certificate but can apply for one for you given time to acquire the relevant documents from you and send them for processing.

years 3&4 residential: wednesday 10th-thursday 11th july 2024

Due to increasing numbers, it has been necessary for us to find a new venue for our residential. We are delighted to have found a wonderful centre with excellent accomodation and very large grounds. It is the Noah's Ark Children's Venture, Macaroni Wood, near Cirencester : https://www.macaroniwood.org.uk/  We will have sole use of the centre and all facilities.

Thank you to those who have returned their slips. We still have a few outstanding -  please hand these in on return to school in January please.

christingle service

This year’s Christingle will be held on 24th December 2023 at 5.00pm at St Mary Magdalene Church, Church End. For the past 55 years Christingle Services have been held in order to raise money to help vulnerable children who face life’s harshest challenges. So if you are at home this Christmas and you have friends and family staying, come along on Christmas Eve and help raise funds for those children who are less fortunate. It really is a fantastic way to start Christmas!

Children have been given a 'candle' to take home. If you are coming to the Christingle Service, please fill your candle (as much as you are able) and bring it with you to the service. If you are unable to attend the service please hand your candle back to School at the beginning of next term. If you are going to a different service at another church, please take your candle there. Many thanks.

Thank you.

Lorna Herold
