Here is this week's news:
What a lovely sunny week we have had! On Monday we welcomed a team of volunteers from Puckrup Hall who cleared all the weeds and tidied up the area around the bike shelter at the back of the school building - we are so grateful to them for doing this; the area looks much better now! On Wednesday evening it was "Bikers Night" in the village - our PTFA and parent volunteers gave up their time to sell teas, coffees, soft drinks, cakes and pulled pork baps, and what a success it was! They raised just over £930 which includes a donation to the air ambulance! This is amazing - well done and thank you to everybody involved!
Next week, we are looking forward to meeting the parents of our next school year's reception class on Thursday for their Parents Information Evening in the school hall. Time certainly flies - the end of this school year is coming far too quickly!
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
I was extremely proud to present the Head Teacher's Award today to somebody who is always so kind, calm, helpful and hardworking! Congratulations go to Jack Western - well done on setting such a great example! We are very proud of you.

On Tuesday evening, our biggest sporting event of the year took place at Tewkesbury Academy. Ten Tewkesbury and district schools with approximately 350 children participated in the KS2 athletics competition. We competed against the other small schools in track and field events. The results were incredibly close and we placed second in track, field and overall position, just short of the winners (Ashchurch) by a mere 2 points (135 to 137). Our children were absolutely phenomenal. Congratulations to the team: Millie, Holly, Isla, Lea, Joe, Jack C, Francis, Jesse, Hallie, Livvy, Lacey-May, Maisie, Eva-Jayne, Florence, Jack W, Leo H, Bertie, Oliver, William, Leo N-S, Tom, Leighton, Josh, Sam H, Nika, Eliza, Arianne, Tabitha, Elena, Amelia, Evie, Joseph, Teddy, Jasper and Freddie. Thank you also to all the helpers who volunteered their time too!
Our annual sports day event will take place on Wednesday 3rd July at 1pm on the village green. As usual, we will need parent volunteers in order to enable our sports day event to take place. Please email Mrs Bowen on admin@twyning.gloucs.sch.uk or Mrs Leggett on jleggett@twyning.gloucs.sch.uk as soon as possible if you can help - it will involve running an activity station and will be explained fully to you beforehand. You would need to be available from 12.15pm at the latest to be briefed. Thank you.

There are only 5 tea towels left! If you still want one, please ask Mrs Bowen for one and bring £5 per towel..
