Here is this week's news:
What a busy last week of school we have had!
On behalf of all staff, I would like to thank you all for your kind and generous words, wishes and gifts. We really do appreciate each and every one.
Our wonderful Year 6 pupils have now left us to move on to pastures new - they have been a fabulous bunch of children and I hope they have enjoyed their last week with us. They have enjoyed the Leavers disco, break the rules day, their Abbey Leavers service and yesterday they even enjoyed a painting session with Sam Morris! We are so proud of each and every one of them and are very sad to see them go and wish them all well on their individual journeys.
We have also said a sad goodbye to our amazing SENDCO Mrs Lowe and wish her well on her new position with the Advisory Teaching Services team in Gloucester in September. She has been an asset to our school and she is somebody we will greatly miss. Goodbye and good luck Mrs Lowe!
I wish you all a wonderful summer break and we look forward to seeing you again in September.
Congratulations this week go to...

Thank you! With your help this week, we have raised £251 from 'Break the rules day' and £394 from the summer discos. £5025 has been raised by our PTFA this school year! This is amazing! We really do appreciate all of your contributions towards these events which are raising much needed funds towards new IT equipment for our school. Thank you also to all the helpers and staff who volunteered their time and efforts into making these events happen - we just couldn't do it without you! Since September'23 money has been spent on the new Rabbits classroom canopy, outdoor play equipment, Y6 leavers gifts, Coaches to the pantomime, Easter eggs for all children, communication signs for the playground and the 'meet the authors' days.
Please note that ALL school dinner account debts MUST be at zero or in credit now. Please login to parentpay and clear outstanding balances by close today. Many thanks.
Can you fundraise £20.24 for 2024? We are needing to buy new IT equipment. If you are able, please have a go at our summer challenge!
As you know, our ex-student Phoebe Asquith was rowing for Team GB against France last weekend with her rowing partner Gracie Janes. We are so proud to announce that they won! Congratulations Phoebe and Gracie! What an amazing achievement!
We are holding an informal meet & greet for anyone who wishes to meet our new SENDCO, Miss Ginn, on Wednesday 11th September at 2pm. Please come along! Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
Do you have a little one who’s keen on nature and the environment?
Then why not join us at Going Green at Gloucestershire archives on Thursday 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd August 10am-12pm. All events are free, drop-ins and include refreshments.
Each week we’ll do something different, from junk modelling to nature spotting, mending to getting messy! If the weather’s nice we’ll get outside in the beautiful Heritage Hub garden. Full details to follow shortly on our events page.
You can find out how to get here via this link. Just scroll down to Getting Here. These events are being run as part of the Green Pledge Project, funded by the Heritage Fund, a project which will expand, explore and share the environmental collections at Gloucestershire Archives. You can sign up for project updates on this page too.
Events are suitable for primary-aged children and all children need to be accompanied by an adult.
