Here is this week's news:
What a busy week we have had! The Christmas Fair was such a well supported event and seemed busy the whole time! It was so lovely to see all the children having fun, running stalls, helping in the grotto and enjoying the festivities. Thank you to each and everyone of you who supported the event, either by spending, organising, helping and volunteering. We made just over £1300 (fair and raffle) which we will be added to existing PTFA funds and used towards the next fundraising project.
The Nativity performances of Bethlehem Bake Off were absolutely amazing! The children performed brilliantly - we are so proud of them! I hope you enjoyed watching. Thanks to our PTFA for providing refreshments.
The raffle will soon be drawn. Tickets will be on sale for £1 each until Monday. Good luck if you have tickets! Mrs Bowen will ring you to choose your prize if your number comes up. There is a wonderful array of prizes to be won, including four large hampers, two 'bar tab' vouchers from The Fleet, Hilton Puckrup Hall vouchers, and many more prizes donated by our Christmas Fair stall holders. Thank you also to Aldi, Tewkesbury, for donating towards our hamper prizes.
The Owls and Hedgehogs Carol Concert at the church was held on Monday evening amazing - this is one of my favourite events of the season, and it certainly did not disappoint. Well done to all involved. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Next week, on Tuesday, we are off to the Panto at The Roses Theatre. I'm sure the children are all looking forward to this! On Wednesday, we have our Christmas Lunch in the dinner hall - children may wear festive jumpers/dresses/outfits for this if they wish to.
Please note, there are no clubs next week, apart from the usual after school care club Monday - Thursday. There is no after school care club on Friday 19th December. Please see below for next term's clubs.
Finally, I would just like to let you know that sadly I won't be in school for the rest of this term as I have had to go into hospital for some routine surgery. I hope that everyone has a great final week of term and a wonderful Christmas! I look forward to seeing you all in January. Miss Taylor and Miss Ginn will be leading school in my absence.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Miss Gladstone

This year’s Christingle will be held on 24th December 2025 at 5.00pm at St Mary Magdalene Church. If you are at home this Christmas and have friends and family staying, come along on Christmas Eve and help raise funds for those children who are less fortunate. It really is a fantastic way to start Christmas.
Your child will should have brought home a donation candle box this week. Please fill it (as much as you are able) and they can bring it with them to this year's Christingle. If you are unable to attend the service, please hand your filled candle back to the school office.
Thank you
Lorna Herold, for St Mary Magdalene Church, Church End

We have been made aware that our uniform supplier, Gooch Clothing, are no longer able to source the navy blue school cardigan. Until we can find an alternative, we are happy for you to buy any school-style navy cardigan, getting it personalised yourself if you so wish, or leaving it plain.
PE KIT: We have noticed that some children are coming in more varied items e.g. black and/or boldly branded items for PE. Please note that the PE t-shirt should be the school logo blue shirt. The school tracksuit is perfect for cold weather. Otherwise, shorts/skort/cycling shorts/joggers should be navy and unbranded. Children may wear their school jumper or cardigan instead of the tracksuit top when cold.
Apply online for pupil premium and free school meals - check to see if your child is eligible using the confidential online portal available on our website www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/education-and-learning/free-school-meals/
You can secure a tasty free meal for your child and save yourself up to £480 per year. Plus our school receives extra funding for each eligible child registered. If you receive a qualifying benefit, we are entitled to extra funding. So even if you don’t want your child to take a free meal, you should still apply to make sure that we receive all the government funding to which we are entitled.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 already receiving an Universal Infant Free School Meal arranged by their school, will still need to apply to enable school to get any extra funding. For further information, including a list of qualifying benefits, click the link above.
I just wanted to remind parents about the most effective ways to make contact with your child's teacher should you need to. You can also advise us if your child is off school sick/unwell on the School Spider app. This is also in the communications section of the website. This document also lists all of the emails for the teachers. We kindly ask that you do not use the private messaging system on Dojo but instead use email please. Many thanks for your support as always. spaces.schoolspider.co.uk/uploads/605/page/40075479_page_file.pdf
