Here is this week's news:
I hope you have all had a great week!
Harvest Festival - Thank you all so much for coming along to our Harvest Festival! We hope you all enjoyed it. Thank you also for your kind food donations; the children really enjoyed selling it all after the event. We raised an amazing £171 for the food bank and are also sending them two boxes of tinned and packet food! Thank you all for your generosity!
INSET Day - Friday 24th October
Just a gentle reminder that school will be closed to pupils on Friday 24th October as it is a teacher training day.

Children should have come home with disco order forms this week. Please send in your money and forms to the School Office ASAP to book your child's place. As always, many hands make light work, and if you are able to help Mrs Bowen set up after school, or help out at either of the discos, selling sweets, face painting/glitter tattooing or simply being present in the hall to help monitor events we would appreciate your help - please see Mrs Bowen in the office, or comment on the PTFA Helpers Whats App group (If you're not on this group please scan the QR code on the PTFA noticeboard in the playground to join). Many thanks!
If you or anyone you know would like a tour of the school with your Reception 2026 child/children, please ring or speak to Mrs Bowen to book an appointment. We are happy to show you around anytime.
We will also be holding an Open Evening on Thursday 13th November at 6:30pm when you will be able to listen to a talk about starting school at Twyning, meet our staff and have a look at our purpose built EYFS Reception classroom - please come along if you can!

Apply online for pupil premium and free school meals - check to see if your child is eligible using the confidential online portal available on our website www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/education-and-learning/free-school-meals/
You can secure a tasty free meal for your child and save yourself up to £480 per year. Plus our school receives extra funding for each eligible child registered. If you receive a qualifying benefit, we are entitled to extra funding. So even if you don’t want your child to take a free meal, you should still apply to make sure that we receive all the government funding to which we are entitled.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 already receiving an Universal Infant Free School Meal arranged by their school, will still need to apply to enable school to get any extra funding. For further information, including a list of qualifying benefits, click the link above.
I just wanted to remind parents about the most effective ways to make contact with your child's teacher should you need to. You can also advise us if your child is off school sick/unwell on the School Spider app. This is also in the communications section of the website. This document also lists all of the emails for the teachers. We kindly ask that you do not use the private messaging system on Dojo but instead use email please. Many thanks for your support as always. spaces.schoolspider.co.uk/uploads/605/page/40075479_page_file.pdf
