Here is this week's news:
I hope you have all had a great week!
We are so grateful to the volunteers from Hilton Puckrup Hall who have been very busy this week giving our playground steps a new coat of colour. I am sure you will all agree how amazing it looks!
As you may have noticed, Mrs Leggett has broken her arm! She is looking for a few volunteer helpers who may be able to come into Foxes class on a Monday afternoon (this Monday in particular) until Half Term, to help with her art lessons. Please email Mrs Bowen on admin@twyning.gloucs.sch.uk if you are able to help. Many thanks.
Next Thursday 9th October it is our annual Harvest Festival at 2:30pm in the School hall. Parents are invited to attend. As usual, please can children bring in fruit/vegetables or packets/tins of (in date) food for the children to sell back to you at the end! All proceeds will go to the Food Bank. Many thanks.
Coats - All children should now be bringing a named waterproof coat to school. We have had such changeable weather recently that we never know what the weather will bring at the moment!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Miss Gladstone

24 and 25 June 2026 Big Step transition taster days are taking place at Tewkesbury Academy.
Yesterday, eighteen of our years 4, 5 and 6 children took part in the second race of the series at the Vineyards. Due to numbers, the girls' age groups were combined this week and our first girl to finish was Isla in 5th place. The larger number of boys meant they still raced separately. Jesse placed 4th in the years 5&4 race and Leo H 5th in the year 6 boys race. Well done to the commitment and effort of all our runners, contributing to our Twyning team: Leo H, Theo, Jack, William R, Bertie, Hallie, Jesse, Joe, Ethan, Isla, Lea, Olivia J, Lachlan, Charlie, George, William B, Willow and Matilda.

Apply online for pupil premium and free school meals - check to see if your child is eligible using the confidential online portal available on our website www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/education-and-learning/free-school-meals/
You can secure a tasty free meal for your child and save yourself up to £480 per year. Plus our school receives extra funding for each eligible child registered. If you receive a qualifying benefit, we are entitled to extra funding. So even if you don’t want your child to take a free meal, you should still apply to make sure that we receive all the government funding to which we are entitled.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 already receiving an Universal Infant Free School Meal arranged by their school, will still need to apply to enable school to get any extra funding. For further information, including a list of qualifying benefits, click the link above.
Recently, we were invited to join in in creating a Tewkesbury-wide primary schools art display. Our classes decorated paper leaves to create a display at Holy Trinity Church in Tewkesbury. The display will be on between 7th and 10th October in the mornings and during the Mop Fair evenings from 3pm to 9:30pm, and also on Saturday 11th between 10am and 5pm. We are told there will be some sweet treats available for the children if they can find their leaf! (While stocks last!!) .
I just wanted to remind parents about the most effective ways to make contact with your child's teacher should you need to. You can also advise us if your child is off school sick/unwell on the School Spider app. This is also in the communications section of the website. This document also lists all of the emails for the teachers. We kindly ask that you do not use the private messaging system on Dojo but instead use email please. Many thanks for your support as always. spaces.schoolspider.co.uk/uploads/605/page/40075479_page_file.pdf
