Using an Accessibility Checker
Using an Accessibility Checker
Accessibility checkers are sometimes built into products such as Canvas and Microsoft Office. They will help you identify certain accessibility issues and provide recommendations to correct the errors:
Links: Descriptive hyperlinks missing
Image: Images missing alt text
Structure: Headings not logically ordered
Tables: Missing header row
Color Contrast: Insufficient color contrast between text color and background color
Note: Accessibility checkers are a helpful resource, but they are not able to identify all accessibility errors. For example, an accessibility checker cannot determine whether alt text provides an accurate description of an image.Â
