Research grants are likely the most common types of grants you will encounter. They can range from a couple hundred dollars up to millions of dollars. Grant opportunities of a couple thousand dollars are common, and can help to purchase equipment needed for research, cover travel costs to and from research sites, and help pay research assistants. But when you are applying for smaller research grants, try to find ways to leverage those smaller amounts to have the greatest impact possible. For example, renting a fleet vehicle that can transport many volunteers rather than paying one research assistant to drive alone (though of course you should try to pay everyone for their labor whenever possible!!). See below for more information on applying for research grants and resources for finding opportunities!
