This workshop was held Tuesday, August 26th from 6:30-8pm PDT via Zoom.
Join us as we discuss the federal Endangered Species Act and the California Endangered Species Act. Learn what these policies are, how they effect your career as a wildlife professional, and how to gain experience with endangered species.
While this workshop is geared towards students and early career professionals, it is open and free for anyone to attend.
Linda Leeman and Kelly Holland will be presenting on the ESA and CESA. Check out their bios below!
Linda Leeman leads the Natural Resources Practice at Ascent. With over 25 years of professional experience, she specializes in habitat assessments, biological resources impact analyses, and endangered species permitting. Linda has extensive experience with CEQA, NEPA, and federal and California ESA compliance for projects throughout California. She regularly coordinates with state and federal resource management agencies, providing reliable, unbiased information to help inform regulatory decisions that allow her clients to achieve their objectives. Linda is a Certified Wildlife Biologist.
Kelly Holland is a senior wildlife biologist and environmental compliance expert, who leads GEI’s Biological Resources Team. She is a Certified Wildlife Biologist, who currently services on the The Wildlife Society’s Certification Review Board. She is a past-President of the Western Section and served as the Section's Conservation Affairs Committee Chair for 8 years. She has over 29 years of experience in ecological research, program management, environmental regulation and compliance, and terrestrial ecosystem monitoring. Much of her career and her involvement with TWS had focused on the intersection of science and policy, and particularly with engaging scientists to participate in shaping policy that affects the wildlife and habitats that we all care about.
