A Glimpse of My Life in TW
A Glimpse of My Life in TW
As I stand by the serene beauty of Sun Moon Lake, I’m reminded of the dream I once had—to teach in Taiwan. Today, that dream is my reality.
What’s meant for you will always find you.

I was thrilled when I was invited to join the all-expense-paid trip to Keelung with the school’s staff and faculty. It felt like such a rare opportunity to get away and spend time with everyone outside of work. As we explored the city together, I found myself enjoying the simple moments—laughing over meals, sharing stories, and just taking in the beautiful views of the harbor. Despite the gloomy weather in Keelung, there was something peaceful about it, and by the end of the trip, I felt like I had found a little home away from home.

Standing before the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of awe. The large white columns and the blue roof stand proudly, offering a quiet reminder of Taiwan's history. The peaceful garden and grand hall invite reflection, and I can’t help but admire the space for both its beauty and its historical weight. It’s a place where the past feels alive, and I’m reminded of how different cultures and stories shape the world we live in today. It makes me feel connected to something much larger than myself.

Alishan feels like a secret whispered by nature, a place where time slows down and the soul finds its rhythm. As I walk beneath the towering trees, their ancient presence seems to share stories of the past with each gentle breeze. The trails lead me deeper into the heart of the forest, where every step feels like a quiet conversation with the earth. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms, and I find myself lost in the beauty of the moment, feeling both small and infinitely connected to this timeless, enchanting place.

My first school event, the walk/run activity, became a beautiful memory etched in my heart. For over an hour, I walked/ran with my students, especially Gary and Justin, who stayed by my side from start to finish, their energy making the journey feel light and effortless. Afterward, Gary’s grandma invited me to breakfast at a local restaurant, and then welcomed me into their home with such warmth. There, I had the privilege of witnessing Gary and Vivi’s musical talents. It was a day of connection, warmth, and shared moments—one I’ll carry with me always.
