Mission 5PS1-4: Design and construct a signal flare rocket that will travel at least 10 feet high. You must utilize a chemical reaction from sodium bicarbonate and acetic acid to launch your flare. Before you begin the engineering design process, research the following topics; Become an expert on them.

Mission 5PS1: Design and construct a car that is powered by a balloon. Decipher the secret message in the video and send it to secret agent MacGyver in his jail cell. Your guard post is about 10 feet away from his cell. You can not be seen talking to agent MacGyver. The Nabakza prison cameras are aimed too high to detect your balloon car. Research: Newton's 3rd law. It will help you to understand why the balloon racer moves. Also, research particles and the 3 states of matter. Once you have successfully completed your mission, follow up with the debriefing questions below the video.

Mission 5PS2-1: Build a vehicle that will safely transport a raw chicken egg (that contains a secret microchip) to the ground from an approximate height of 20 feet. You may only use the following materials: 1 box of straws, 1 bag of pipe cleaners, 4 rubber bands, 10-12 feet of string, 1 garbage bag, and tape. You do not have to use all of the materials and you cannot use anything more than what's listed. Become an expert on gravity. Research gravity. Find out facts about gravity. Use the engineering design process to build your vehicle. Post your results on Flipgrid (Don't forget to introduce yourself) ALSO...During your video on Flipgrid, state ONE fact about gravity that no other agent has posted yet.
