Grading Policy

Attendance:

Tardies: All classes are consistent with the school's policy regarding tardies.

Absences: You are responsible for making up work missed due to excused absences. There is an absent bin in the back of the classroom, check there first for missing work, then ask your peers or a teacher to be sure you have everything you need.

Writing:

Use a #2 pencil or a dark blue or black pen for in-class writing. At home assignments may be typed or handwritten if the student chooses.

Grading:

I grade assignments using points. Homework, classwork, quizzes, and short assignments are worth between 10 and 50 points. Tests and essays are generally worth 100 points.

• 97 - 100% = A+
• 93 - 96% = A
• 90 - 92% = A-
• 87 - 89% = B+
• 83 - 86% = B
• 80 - 82% = B-
• 77 - 79% = C+
• 73 - 76% = C
• 70 - 72% = C-
• 60 - 69% = D

Electronics:

All classroom policies are consistent with the Kawameeh Middle School policy regarding in class electronics.

Please turn off all electronics, including cell phones, and leave them in your locker. Any cell phone or electronic device on display will be sent to the office immediately, where you may retrieve it at the end of the school day.
