Nursing
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM OUR NURSES
Medication Drop off:
You must email or call the school nurse to make an appointment to drop off medication/supplies. No medication will be given without a doctor’s order.
Asthma treatments:
Students may use asthma inhalers when necessary. You must provide the nurse with a doctor’s note for the inhaler.
Students may not bring inhalers to school and the nurse cannot administer an inhaler to your child unless a doctor’s note for this school year is on file.
Due to the potential for airborne particle spread, no asthma nebulizer treatments will be given in school.
Students may use asthma inhalers when necessary. Children with flare-ups of respiratory conditions should not be in school during the pandemic.

Pick up of ill children:
The TUPS nurses will follow CDC guidelines for when a child should be sent home from school due to illness.
Please do not send your child to school if they do not feel well.
Please ensure all contact numbers are up to date and someone is available within ½ hour of receiving a call to pick up your child.
The nurse’s office will be used for emergency care only.
Students suspected of potential illness will be identified in the nurse's office and then placed in a separate area while waiting to be picked up by a parent/guardian.
