Your process......
Your personality.........
Your imagination..........
Art journaling is playful, there is no right or wrong, and it's a great way to practice using a variety of mediums and techniques.
Lets get Started!
Use an existing journal, or make your own journal out of a collection of paper. Make sure your journal is bound together using staples or string.
Decorate the cover. Your the artist! Make this be about you!
Now the pages.......?????
Do a page every day......or do a page once a week, you decide.
When starting your pages, ask yourself questions. Draw what, when, where, why.......and how you felt about it. The art journal will be a story about your summer. How you felt, where you went, what you did. Remember there are no rules. Most of all remember......Enjoy creating the pages!
One last thing......use many mediums, markers, pencils, paint, collage, pictures!
Enjoy!!!!!! See in the new school year!

Week 2: "Scribble Challenge"
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o3n60fv6cFBVVL2-I1BDTfA3bvIJTUy0/view?usp=sharing
Middle School students, I realize you have done this tutorial a few times over the past two years. Try it again. Add more detail. Every time you do the "Scribble Challenge" a new image appears. Have Fun!
Week 1: "Studio in a Box" Scavenger Hunt
Follow the tutorial below to create your home "Studio in a Box"
A studio is a place where you do your creative work.
A "Studio Box" is a place where you keep your "Creative Material".
Note: If you have siblings at home, "Create" your "Studio in a Box" together.
This is a time for sharing.
Remember: Always ask first if supplies belong to someone else in your home.
Find a box, basket, bucket, or grocery bag, about the size of your school backpack. This is where you will store your supplies.
Find:
gluestick
tape
stapler
pencil
colored pencils
black sharpie
crayons
markers
paint set
paper
colored paper
ruler
scissors
old gift card
It's ok if you can't find all these items on the list. It's about the search right now.
Now find:
two old magazines or newspapers
five or six pieces of colorful junk mail
three or four small boxes, cans, or bottles
Where will you look for items in Step 2 and 3 ?
kitchen junk drawer
under your bed
garage
basement
your sisters' room (with permission)
recycle can
Personalize your "Studio Box"
Use your creativity to decorate and organize your "Studio Box". Have fun with it. Draw or tape your original art work to the outside of your main container. Modify and decorate the small boxes, cans, bottles, to hold and separate items in your box.
Have FUN!!!
If you would like to share your "Studio Box" with your classmates, send me a photo and I will post it.
