I thought I should tell you a little about myself. I have been teaching in this area for the past twenty-one  years, and I am really excited about returning to Rio Linda Preparatory Academy for the 2025/2026 school year. This will be my tenth year teaching seventh and eighth grade. I studied history in college and at the post graduate level and love the curriculum, especially history which deals with ancient civilizations and the United States. These were two of the areas that I focused on for my Bachelors in History. I love learning about Rome, Greece, and the ancient Middle East. I also enjoy teaching all aspects of U.S. history. This is the ninth year that I will be teaching this subject at these grade levels and I look forward to the adventure. 

I grew up in southern California and came up to Davis for school. I stayed in Davis and now live there with my wife and three children. I have a Nineteen-year-old daughter named Ia who is very kind, intelligent, and a Sophmore at UC Davis now. Our daughter, Mischa, is sixteen and is really into music and photography. Our son, Asher, is almost twelve and loves playing with his siblings and Fortnite. My wife, Rachel, is also a teacher in Woodland. She teaches first grade. We also have four cats and a dog named Martel. 

My philosophy is that our students cannot truly be successful without parents and teachers working as a team. Communication is going to be key for your child to have the best year possible.
