Rachel Mendez

Rachel Mendez - softball

 
3 time Capital Valley all-conference play including the 1999 Capital Valley Conference MVP

Her senior year she hit .515 with 11 doubles, 45 RBIs, and scored 44 runs. 

Rachel was awarded the honor of being named sacramento bee all metro 1st team and played in the 1999 Optimist game. 

Rachel accepted a scholarship to play at Texas A&M  Corpus Christi.



Bob Mckenzie 

Bob McKenzie - 3 sport athlete

 

Bob was a tremendous athlete who played all 3 major sports, baseball, basketball, and football. 

Bob was the Sacramento area leader in combined passing and running yards for the Knights football team. This accomplishment helped him earn the MVP most valuable player of the all-north Metro Conference. 

Bob was also selected to be the quarterback in the 1970 Optimist game. 

After high school, Bob accepted a scholarship to play for the Oregon State Beavers. 



Shawn Scobee

Shawn Scobee - baseball 


3-time CVC conference MVP 2000, 2001, 2002 - 3 conference titles. 

Shawn was a career .438 hitter, hit 27 home runs in 3 years including 10 home runs in 2002, a school record that still exists to this day!

Shawn was a 1st team all-American in 2002 and was drafted in the 5th round of the major league draft by the Chicago Cubs. Shawn decided to go to CSU Fullerton where he won a national championship with the Titans in 2004. 



Richard Seward 

Coach Seward is being inducted into the RLHS Hall of Fame posthumously for his contributions to the cross-country and track-and-field programs at RLHS. 

 

He coached the 62-63 season at Don Julio before coming to RLHS 


Coach Seward helped to start the Track and Field and Cross Country programs at RLHS before an actual track existed at RLHS. 

 


During his time as coach, his teams won a number of league titles, and athletes who went on to section and state meet appearances including 2022 HOF inductee Sheila Hudson.



Rich Musillami

Coach Rich “Moose” Musillami -Baseball 

36 years total coaching baseball in the Grant and Twin Rivers school districts.

26 years varsity 


During that time “Moose” compiled 14 conference championships, and was in 5 section title games including the only baseball division 2 section title in school history, the 1985 championship team. 



“Moose” compiled just under 500 total wins in his career including a school record 25 wins in a row in 2002.



1979 Men's Basketball Team 

Team  1979 Men’s Basketball Team 

To this day, the 1979 men's basketball team is the only mens basketball team to win a section title. This team was coached by Hall of Fame coach Terry Ray.
