Basic Rules of Netiquette for ELA 8
Welcome to the wonderful world of Distance Learning! It is essential that we all have an understanding of how to behave in an online community. Here are some basic protocols to consider. This is not an all inclusive list of things to consider, so please think before you post.
This is a "classroom,” not a personal channel. Keep all posts related to the class. Do not post personal topics or discussions. Keep all posts pertinent and school appropriate.
This is not a text message; therefore, practice correct grammar and spelling. You have a keyboard, so you can type using formal written English language.
Be patient with others. Just because they misspelled a word does not mean you need to post anything negative. Do not start arguments online. Practice kindness.
Be respectful at all times. Be polite, even when critiquing another's work.
Read directions carefully. Keep track of whether it is an attached file or a new file. Be sure to complete all work by the due dates.
Respect others’ collaborative work. Never erase or edit another person's work without their permission. Do your fair share of the work.
Remember, I see all posts, so do not post anything inappropriate. Poor netiquette practices will lead to limitations of your account. Always practice good netiquette when posting online.
