Hello Families!

I would first like to say that I miss seeing the "Dolphin Class" each day and hope that you and your family are doing well!

I wanted to provide families with some optional activities that you can do at home with your students during our school closure. It is important for students to read with someone each day. Research has shown that reading time is a great predictor of your students success in reading. I also sent home in your child's backpack a Swun math workbook, Journeys reading workbook and a sheet that had the end of the year Kindergarten Goals. These optional workbook activities and Kindergarten Goals are a great resource for you and your child!

Below are some websites that offer wonderful learning activities for your child. While the computer is an amazing learning tool, there are also other activities that are important as well. For instance, art activities, building with blocks and legos, writing and coloring, outdoor activities and playing age appropriate board games.

LETTER IDENTIFICATION, SOUNDS PRACTICE, MAKING WORDS, AND MATH SKILLS

This is a fun way for your child to practice their letters, sounds and blending skills!

Just visit: www.starfall.com

JIJI

Your child may practice their math skills at home with JiJi! Here is the web address!

*Your child will be learning their password and should be able to login at home!!

Information from TRUSD

"We are making steady progress with our response teams as we prepare to support students and families in this new environment. District leaders have been actively participating in several conference calls with federal, state and county partners to voice parent concerns, raise employee matters and clarify the guidance received thus far on steps school districts should take to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We thank families and students for their patience and quick action in following federal, state and county directives.

Given the new Sacramento County guidelines, we would like to offer these resources to our families.

Dear Students and Families,

I hope all of you are safe and well. I’m writing to share more information regarding school closures. Today, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) made the difficult decision to extend school closures until May 1 to slow the spread of the coronavirus. SCOE made the decision in consultation with public health officials.

We know students and staff were hoping to be back in school after Spring Break. That was our wish, too. However, protecting the health and safety of our Twin Rivers school community is paramount.

Therefore, our schools will reopen as soon as the Governor and the Department of Public Health give direction that it is safe to do so.
