On August 25, 2022, the new Highlands Sports Complex was officially opened with a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony.

Highlands High School's Principal, Mr. Hawthrone, joined by members of the board, the superintendent, and others, including students and community members, celebrated the start of construction of the new Highlands Sports Complex.
