CONTEST: Year Book Cover Design

OPTICAL ILLUSION ART PROJECT

Step 1: Create the tunnels by following these steps.

Step 2: Draw the spheres.

Step 3: Combine the 2 techniques and add shading to create the illusion of depth.

We looked at the work of artist Jen Aranyi and created our own landscapes. We practiced blending colors that are next to each other in the rainbow to make a gradient for the sky. We added a little table salt to the paint while it was wet to create bursts of color. Sharpie techniques and perspective were used to create the bottom portion of the landscape.

Let's celebrate International Dot Day! A day to celebrate creativity and taking chances. After reading "The Dot," by Peter Reynolds students were encouraged to make a mark and see where it takes them. We started with crayon and will be adding watercolor during the next art class.
