The project proposal poses a question to test, outlines the general procedures for the experiment, and provides a rationale for why the project will be done.
Some great resource for finding ideas:
The outline is where the background research is started and allows the students to begin compiling their findings.
The research paper should be a minimum of three pages long (Times New Roman, 12 font, double spaced) and should have at least 5 References in APA format including required sources from the ISEF rule book.
The research plan outlines the specific procedures (numbered list) that will be followed during the experiment. Include specific amounts of materials used, concentrations of chemicals, disposal/cleanup, and any safety precautions you will use. It is important to note that students should be utilizing personal protective gear when applicable and/or adult supervision.
Make all required and suggested corrections to the rough draft from the feedback your teacher provided you. Now type the suggested corrections on a document following the format below. The ISEF Forms require student & parent signatures in ink & dated, complete all questions & appropriate forms. At minimum Forms: 1, 1A, 1B, with revised Typed Research Plan must be completed. Additional forms are required for animals, human subjects, microbiology, or dangerous or hazardous materials. The list of required forms can be found at the bottom of your research plan. https://student.societyforscience.org/intel-isef-forms
Forms Cheat Sheet:
The results of your experiment should be recorded in your logbook.
Photos should include the setup before the experiment begins, during the experiment, and after the experiment. Please include pictures of YOU DOING THE EXPERIMENT!
Refer to the Project Guide below. You will be able to make corrections to your final report before printing and organizing it in a binder to have on your table during the science fair. Revisions to these reports will be due 11/7-11/11. Don't forget to include your conclusions in your logbook. More information is available in the project guide below.
The abstract is a typed 3 paragraph summary of your entire project from start to finish. The abstract must be on the form found at ssefflorida.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/2020-SSEF-Abstract.pdf
The Project Summary is a detailed list of any changes you made to your original approved plan that was approved along with your paperwork. You may or may not have to complete additional ISEF paperwork prior to making your changes. ALWAYS ASK YOUR TEACHER!
