Go to AR HomeConnect. Then select "Continue to Welcome Page." You will use your child's log-in information for this site. Email claire.brooks@tvcs.org if you need your log in information.
School Year Guidelines
Students must maintain their AR log. Link to AR log
ELA teachers and Reading teachers can sign under Date Approved. Those teachers and the librarians can sign in the Date Approved to Test column.
Due Dates 2023-24:
Q1 - Friday, Oct. 13th
Q2 - Friday, Dec. 22nd
Q3 - Wednesday, March 13th
Q4 - Friday, May 10th
AR nine weeks 100% +5 more point goal dress down days
Fri., Oct. 14th
Fri. Jan 19th
Thurs., March 21st
Wed., May 15th (Yes, 4th nine weeks WILL have a dress down day for students who make their goal +5 more points)
Students who made their nine weeks point goal plus 5 more points earn a dress down day. Passes will be handed out in language arts classes. Students may wear jeans and a shirt of their choice. Follow the dress down day guidelines stated in the student handbook. You may view the handbook on tvcs.org under middle school Forms/Documents/Newsletters. If students are absent or forget to dress down there will not be a makeup day.
Rewards for Reading (Document Link)
1) Jeans dress down day for meeting 100% + 5 of your goal each 9 weeks.
Students who made their nine weeks point goal plus 5 more points earn a shirt and jeans dress down day. Passes will be handed out in language arts classes. Students may wear jeans and a shirt of their choice. Follow the dress down day guidelines stated in the student handbook. 2) Field Trip April TBD for reading all 15 of the SSYRA books and passing the AR tests. DUE March 22nd.
3) AR Celebration (aka. field day) for meeting your AR goal the 1st, 2nd and 3rd nine weeks. Date TBA.
4.) April TBA - Official Voting booths will be set up in the library by the Supervisor of Elections of Sumter Co. Students must read 3 or more of the Sunshine State books to be eligible.
5) Brag Tags- monthly tags for cumulative AR points for making it into the point club (50, 100, 200, 300, ...) plus name advertised in the school hallway and library Google classroom.
6) Brag Tags- a tag for each Sunshine State book you pass an AR test on. Come to the library to get a brag tag to wear on your lanyard or backpack.
Search our school library for books by Accelerated Reader book level or point value.
In Destiny, go to the Catalog
use the drop down to select Accelerated Reader as the reading program.
Use the boxes to put in your range. For example, 2.0 to 2.0 will only pull up books that are 2 AR points.
Use the search bar to add a topic (ex: sports, animals, mystery,...).
