Hola!
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:
Welcome to the exciting “World of Spanish.” It is my pleasure to be your child's Spanish teacher this school year. Born in central America in the country of Panama, I’ve had the great opportunity to live in the United States of America for over 30 years. I hope you will get to know me as a patient and caring advocate for every student’s learning.
I enjoy teaching Spanish and recognize the importance of becoming bilingual as an important tool for every student in order to succeed in life. Languages open doors to many opportunities in life. Spanish is the second most commonly spoken language in the world and the second most spoken language in the United States.
Your child has the great opportunity to know and learn about the Spanish language and its rich cultures. As the teacher, one of my goals is to guide and help your child to have communicative competence in Spanish, increasing his/her language skills in the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In the same way, this course will help your child to increase his/her cultural awareness of Hispanic and Hispanic American culture.
