Looks great on your resume - Volunteering can give you work experience that you can list on your resume. This is a great opportunity if you have no work experience in the United States, or if you have never worked or been employed in the past.

Are you interested in volunteering?
We depend on the time and talents of our generous volunteers to help our students. In addition to helping students in the classroom, you will find a variety of volunteer activities, including open enrollment, school events, graduation, and more!
If you want to volunteer, please email Angelina Yoshida (yoshida.angelina@tusd.org) AND the program lead for the department you wish to help:
To volunteer in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program, please email Meredith Tait (tait.meredith@tusd.org)
To volunteer in the High School Diploma & GED program, please email Armando Chavez (chavez.armando@tusd.org)
To volunteer in the Career Technical Education (CTE) program, please email Yowanda Salter (salter.yowanda@tusd.org)
To volunteer in the Community Education program, please email Principal Ryan Whetstone (whetstone.ryan@tusd.org)
In addition to emailing the appropriate staff, all TAS volunteers MUST FIRST APPLY to become an approved Torrance Unified volunteer (see application link below):
As part of the application process, Torrance Unified volunteers need to provide proof of a negative tuberculosis test or risk assessment before coming to our school sites and working around students.
One easy way to complete a free TB Screening, is by visiting one of the Department of Public Health (DPH) Public Health Centers. You can see a list of available locations and screening times here. The South Bay location is on page 4.
We appreciate our volunteers and look forward to many more experiences with each of you!
