Our last Professional Development for the school year was an informative, interactive event. Dr. Diulio opened with state adult education updates and school implications. Staff members shared updates on various projects and activities including the recent DLAC Team presentation at the OTAN Technology and Distance Learning Symposium; TAS staff activities with piloting AI software with ESL students; development of class materials and student usage of the the Canvas Learning Management System; and expanded usage of Canva design software. Staff participated in a live lesson demonstrating the interactive process of Career Technical Education with Integrated Education and Training (IET) for English learners participating in these programs. Math teachers with our high school diploma program participated in a special breakout session with UCLA Math Project Specialist, Dr. Joy Zimmerman (more to come on this new partnership). An extensive review of the CASAS data system and how our school operations, instructional processes, goals and data reporting for state and federal compliance were reviewed. Discussions on how to better serve and support our students were part of the process of the day. Staff also began engagement to create our state-mandated adult education Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP). We look forward to expanding on all of the projects mentioned, as moving forward one of the top-performing adult schools in the state.

Peachjar is an online platform designed to streamline the distribution of digital flyers and information within school communities.
Torrance Unified School District uses an electronic flyer communication and delivery tool called “Peachjar” in an effort to be environmentally friendly and to embrace innovative technology. This paperless delivery system continues to save our community partners and schools tons of paper, reduces copy costs, and removes an administrative task for teachers, office staff, and volunteers to complete.
No action is required on your part if you have kept your email contact information updated in Powerschool, our District's student information system. You will receive a welcome email from our service provider (Peachjar) that includes a username and password. This is provided to give you the opportunity to manage your account and flyer delivery preferences. You do not need to login to receive or view school eflyers but you must login in order to “opt-out” of this delivery service. Please keep in mind that this electronic method of school flyer delivery replaces all paper distribution of flyers at your student’s school. By opting out, you could miss pertinent information related to your student(s) and other school events.
This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose.
To view school-approved eflyers, simply click the Peachjar icon on your school’s website homepage (see images below). We also suggest you add school@peachjar.com to your email contacts. When you receive your first eflyer, be sure to click “always display images.”
