On August 8th, 2018, the Central High School Falcons played the Paul W. Bryant Stampede. There was a pretty impressive turnout. Attending the game, I was able to witness many outstanding plays that Bryant used to destroy Central. The final score was 20-0, and Central fans returned home in defeat. Both school’s bands played throughout the game and marched during halftime.
Some familiar faces could be spotted playing in the marching bands, as well as being apart of the cheer leading, dance, and auxiliary teams. Playing saxophone, Rodrick Carter in the 8th grade played for Central High. Both teams played very well, but in the end, the Stampede came out on top. Magnet alumni included Brandon Walton on the euphonium, Alex Bunker and Sam Smith on trumpet, Kelsey Ingram on saxophone, Kendra Ain-Labingo on clarinet, Sean Smith on trumpet, and Emia Sesson dancing.
