An athlete is often seen as very gifted or naturally talented, but the truth is, it takes a lot more. Too often people get discouraged from truly trying to become an athlete because they think that they already have to to be fit or gifted to continue on. The truth is that natural talent barely exists- if at all.
To become an athlete, you don't need a new body. You need a new attitude.
For example, an athlete will keep persevering even if what they are doing is repetitive. The average person will do something for a little bit and then move on to the next thing and forget about what you just learned. You can not quit when something becomes hard, you can not give up halfway through, and you can not give 50% and expect to become better. You must put 110% into everything you do, and not just sports.
This is why professional athletes generally had better grades than the average student. When start to see yourself advance in your sport, and even if you become the best in your sport you do not become cocky. Always strive to work harder, in turn resulting in the best version of yourself as an athlete.

What makes an athlete an athlete is a passion. If you have passion, the rest will follow.
