Program Vision

The vision of the counseling department at Skyland Elementary School is that all students are equipped with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills that promote confident, self-directed, and successful citizens. They will contribute their strengths and talents to positively impact the world.

Program Mission

The mission of the Skyland Elementary School Counseling Department is to provide all students equitable access to a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate school counseling program. Students will focus on their academic, career, and social/emotional growth in order to promote their overall well-being. The school counselor will serve as a leader and advocate for the needs of each and every student to be met so that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to become successful lifelong learners. Through collaboration with school stakeholders, the school counselor will ensure all students will be prepared to utilize their strengths and talents to achieve excellence as productive community members.
