Dance: General Info

Who may attend?

The Homecoming dance is for all NHS students in good standing. No student may attend the Homecoming Dance that is on current suspension, which is out of school suspension and/or ISI. Students who have been expelled or are currently in alternative school may not attend the Homecoming Dance. Guests must be at least a high school freshman and must not be older than 19. A form is required to be completed and emailed to NHS for the guest to be able to attend (see below for more information). The admission fee will NOT be refunded for any guest not in good standing.

To be admitted to the Homecoming Dance, students must have previously paid the admission fee. All non-NHS student guests must have their school complete and submit via email their Guest in Good Standing Report by 3:45 PM on Wednesday, October 16th. Non- NHS student guests will have an opportunity to provide an electronic copy of their valid ID (driver's license and/or student ID) via a Google Form. The link to the Google Form will be provided upon purchase of admission, on the NHS website and HERE. If the Google Form is not submitted by 3:45 PM on Wednesday, October 16th, the non-NHS student guest will be required to present a valid ID at the door.

All attendees must check-in at the designated entry table where their names will be checked off a previously created list. There will be no physical tickets issued or required to be admitted into the Homecoming Dance. Non-NHS guests who DID NOT provide an electronic copy of their ID via the Google Form, must present their valid ID in person when they check in. Failure to meet the previously addressed criteria will result in students and non-NHS student guests being denied entrance to the Homecoming Dance.

What are the rules of behavior at the Homecoming dance?

All rules found in the Tuscaloosa City Schools Handbook pertaining to school sponsored events apply. In addition, students and their guest may not leave and re-enter the dance area (This includes going to your car).

Please be reminded that vaping/smoking are not permitted. Students may not enter the Homecoming dance under the influence of any substance, drugs, or alcohol. Students are also prohibited from bringing any outside substance into the dance. Any student or guest who violates the rules will be expelled from the Homecoming dance, and the students will face school discipline. Be aware that the student will be responsible for the conduct of his/her guests and will suffer the consequences of his/her guest’s behavior. All school rules apply to students and their guests going to, coming from, and attending the Homecoming dance.

Dancing must remain appropriate to a school environment. Suggestive or dangerous dancing will be stopped and those participating will be removed from the premises. The administrators of Northridge High School reserve the right to make any other decisions needed to ensure a safe night for our students.

Non-NHS Student Guest Information:

Guest in Good Standing Report:
- All Non-NHS Student Guests are required to have the Non-NHS Student Guest in Good Standing Report completed by their current school (or the most recent high school the guest attended) and emailed back to NHS by 3:45 PM on Wednesday, October 16th. The form will be given to the NHS student host when the guest’s admission is purchased. The LAST CHANCE to purchase a Non-NHS Student Guest admission is Tuesday, October 15th. If the guest is found to not be in good standing or the report not returned to NHS by the due date, the guest will be unable to attend and there will be no refund or edits made to the attendance list for the NHS student. If the report is not back to NHS by the due date, the guest will not be able to attend.
Valid ID Electronic Submission:
- All Non-NHS Student Guests will need to provide a valid ID (driver's license and/or student ID) to enter the Homecoming dance. To expedite the process at the check-in table, we are offering an opportunity for guests to submit a photo of their valid ID in advance.
- Guests will need to submit the completed Google Form no later than 3:45 PM on Wednesday, October 16th.
- The Google Form will be provided upon purchase of admission and on the NHS website.
