Day 2 - (9/8/21) - Bailey Island and Harpswell

Today we crossed over Merriconeag  Sound and drove down another Harpswell Peninsula to Orr’s Island and then crossed the Cribstone Bridge to Bailey Island.  The Cribstone Bridge gets its name from the large granite slabs laid in a “crib” fashion.  This style bridge contains no mortar and is engineered to allow the tide to pass through with no damaging effects to the structure.
