Day 7 - Lunenburg etc, Along the Atlantic Coast
After a delicious breakfast and good conversation at the B&B we took a ride along a curvy sea road which wound through quiet inlets and peninsulas to Blue Rocks. This is a sea-worn, non-commercial, hamlet nestled next to the ocean with pretty rocks and little shanties.

We stopped at Lunenburg for lunch and did a walking tour of the town with all its bright colored buildings and also the harbor where we saw the famous Bluenose II in the process of being restored.

Our next stop was "The Ovens" which is an interesting natural phenomenon with commanding cliffs overlooking the ocean. We walked along a trail to caves (Ovens) where the surf surges up into the cavities and crashes. The sound reverberates and sounds like thunder or cannons going off…..appropriately named Cannon and Thunder Caves.

Our last stop along this interesting route which our innkeeper mapped out for us was at Hirtles Beach, a wide expanse of sand and ocean surf where we took a walk on the beach.
