Day 9 - 8/30/2018 - Exit Glacier Hike and SeaLife Center

Today's Weather:  High 66, low 52, Sunshine with high puffy clouds.

Today was another sunny and warm day in Alaska.  We enjoyed a delicious 3 course breakfast and good conversation with other guests from Boston and Dallas and then headed to Kenai Fjords National Park.  The Exit Glacier area is the only part of the park accessible by road which leads to a  network of trails with different views of the glacier.  We started by the nature center and followed a trail through cottonwood forest to Glacier View, a panoramic vista of Exit Glacier spilling down from the Harding Icefield.  We were able to witness up close how glaciers re-shape a landscape and see how plant life reclaims the barren rocky land exposed by a glacier’s retreat.
