We are excited to introduce Clarity, Turnitin's new student writing space, now available for pilot. Join us for a session exploring how Turnitin Clarity provides visibility into the student writing process, moving beyond the final product to reveal drafting history and guide responsible AI usage. Educators will learn how students navigate Clarity's composition space, understand student writing activity, and leverage insights to assess originality and promote ethical academic practices. Discover how Clarity empowers both educators and students in the evolving landscape of generative AI.
This session explores the evolving landscape of AI-driven tools available to students today. We will learn about AI "study tools" being marketed to students, with a live demonstration of some of these products. We will also look at the ways in which an array of productivity, accessibility, and other study tools have changed over time, against a backdrop of how students have already been impacted by Generative AI. For any faculty or departments considering curriculum revision, this session can help solidify why curriculum revision will be your best investment in time and resources. Attendees are encouraged to use this information to help guide their students.
For all universities, colleges and community colleges getting started with Clarity, we are pleased to offer weekly office hours. Need a refresher on what the assignment building process workflow is, or understanding the assignment options or how to leave feedback for your students? Perhaps you need some help understanding how to import or build rubrics that prioritize the Turnitin grading tools? Or would you perhaps like to check and share your tips and tricks, and pick up new ideas from peer educators across an array of institutions? These sessions do require sign up, but are not open drop in--if we don't have any attendees within 15 minutes of the start time, we will close the session and try again next week.
Publishing with confidence means knowing your work is bulletproof before it reaches an editor’s desk. This session moves past the basics to focus on the strategic implementation of iThenticate. We will discuss how to treat originality checking as a diagnostic tool for your writing process rather than a final hurdle. This includes developing a deeper understanding of manuscript health, mapping iThenticate to your specific research discipline, and addressing the challenges of the "new age" of publishing in the era of AI. We will be announcing the Fall date soon.
This session is for those who would like an update on everything new with Turnitin: the enhanced Similarity Report, updates to the AI Indicator--including bypasser and paraphrase detection, changes to the downloadable reports, as well as information on the Turnitin development roadmap. This session is for those who already have experience with Turnitin, and will include information on how you can offer your feedback to help improve our products.
Whether you are using Feedback Studio (the Similarity Report) with the newest LTI 1.3 integration or Clarity, you may need a refresher on working with Turnitin Rubrics and QuickMarks. In this session, you will learn the ins and outs of creating new rubrics and QuickMarks, sharing these tools with colleagues, and more. This is a session for those who have already learned how to build assignments. We will have ample time for your questions.
With the advent of ChatGPT and other widely available AI-assisted writing tools, many instructors have questions. In this session we will discuss the AI Indicator, as well as introduce you to the new features you may not know about with the Originality add on--and our goal is to leave you with resources which will help you in your teaching. If you have not used the AI indicator recently or if you have not attended an introductory session before, this is the perfect session for you! These sessions are ongoing.
