Turning Point Summer Camps serve as both a bridge to and an extension of our signature Elementary and Middle School programs. Students continue to explore the key elements that define their social, physical, intellectual, ethical, and emotional growth while enjoying the fun of summertime. Our safe and inclusive environment provides the perfect place for campers to practice creativity, leadership, friendship, well-being, independence, and self-advocacy.

Focus lessons (private and semi-private) will also be available this summer. Please see the Focus Lesson section at the bottom of the page for more information and to register.

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes close when they reach maximum enrollment, so you are encouraged to sign up early.

Grade levels listed refer to the grade level students will be entering in the 2023-24 academic year.

All camps will adhere to COVID safety measures. Summer Camp logistics are subject to change based on the guidelines issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Current Grade 8: Register for Start-of-Summer Camp

The school year is done, but the summer fun has just begun! Celebrate with our special Start-of-Summer Camp, run entirely by our expert summer camp team.

For rising Grades 1-6 campers, variety and play are the keywords. The day's schedule will include sessions in Music, Theatre, Dance, Sports and more. Each session will explore its designated subject with both focused study and engagement in play-based activities. There will be plenty of time for breaks and socializing, too.

Rising Grades 7-9 campers are invited to participate in our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program where they will continue to learn and grow as leaders by mentoring younger students and taking the lead on projects and activities. CIT Program participants build real-world accountability and enhance their mentoring skills. CITs will finish the program with a Leadership Journal, having documented their journey with a variety of creative entries over the course of the week.

All campers are welcome to bring their own lunch or purchase lunch through our lunch partner. Details will be provided after registration is completed.

TPS Theatre Conservatory (Grades 1-2)

TPS Theatre Conservatory camp is open to Turning Point students who recently completed the 2022-23 school year.

Grades 1-2 Students will get in touch with their sense of play, creativity, and theatrics in this exciting two-week theatre camp featuring high-energy classes such as improv, musical theater, stage combat, set design, and voice and movement for the actor - and much more!

Mornings will be an enthralling selection of the theatre courses mentioned above, and in the afternoons, students will get the opportunity to settle into the rehearsal room to stage a play which will be performed for family-audiences at the end of the camp session.

All campers are welcome to bring their own lunch or purchase lunch through our lunch partner. Details will be provided after registration is completed.

3, 2, 1.... FUN! Our Back-to-School camp offers campers a chance to celebrate the conclusion of summer, connect with friends, and ease into the new school year.

For rising Grades K-6, variety and play are still key. The day's schedule will include sessions in Music, Theatre, Dance, Sports and more. Rising Grades 5-6 students may choose between the full-day Back-to-School camp OR select one of the options below under 'Additional Opportunities for Grades 5-8 Students'.

Rising Grades 7 and 8 campers are again invited to participate in our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program OR select one of the options below under 'Additional Opportunities for Grades 5-8 Students'.

Additional Opportunities for Grades 5-8 Students

MORNING IN MIDDLE SCHOOL | Half Day Program (9 am - 12 pm)

Grades 5-8 students may choose to participate in our half-day program, Morning in Middle School, which provides a preview of Turning Point's middle school program, so students can (re)connect with each other and acquaint themselves with the routines of the school year. Learners get an early start to the new school year by beginning to create a reliable organizational management system and by familiarizing themselves with our MakerSpace and SmartLab.

FOOTBALL INTENSIVE | Half Day Program (12 pm - 3 pm) CANCELED

Grades 5-8 students are invited to join us for our Football Intensive! Football Intensive focuses on the principles and fundamentals of flag football. Campers work on improving their running, passing, receiving, and blocking skills. Campers work closely with the coach in order to help them learn the playbook for the fall season, setting our Tornado players up for success! Note: Football Intensive requires a minimum enrollment of four students.

VOLLEYBALL INTENSIVE | Half Day Program (12 pm - 3 pm) CANCELED

Grades 5-8 students are invited to join us for our Volleyball Intensive! Volleyball Intensive is for those students interested in playing volleyball competitively. We work on the basic skills of volleyball, such as passing, setting, hitting, and serving, as well as team-related defense and offense. Everyone is on the same team and the values of hard work and positive attitudes are emphasized. Students leave with confidence in their skills and the ability to contribute to a team. Note: Volleyball Intensive requires a minimum enrollment of four students.

BASKETBALL INTENSIVE | Half Day Program (12 pm - 3 pm)

Grade 5-6 students are invited to join us for our Basketball Intensive! Basketball Intensive is a fun and active summer camp in which campers prepare for interscholastic competition by working on improving their basketball specific skill set as well as improving their strategic understanding of the game. Campers will continue to work on understanding the different roles on a team and committing to giving their best effort as athletes and teammates. The three-hour session will be split into skills drills and scrimmages and the tone will be one of hard work and fun as we revel in the last weeks of summer.

CHEER INTENSIVE | Full Day Program (9 am - 3 pm) CANCELED

Grades 5-8 students are invited to join us for our Cheer Intensive with Coach Cadena! This session is for students interested in learning the basics of cheer technique. No previous cheerleading or performance experience is necessary. All you need is a willingness to learn, exercise, and have fun! Athletes will gain skills needed for high-energy cheer routines. Participants will leave with a pep in their step, as well as a deeper understanding of working toward a goal with a team. Note: Cheer Intensive requires a minimum enrollment of four students.

THEATRE INTENSIVE | Full Day Program (9 am - 3 pm)

Grades 6-8 students and recent graduates are invited to join us for our Theatre Intensive, a fun and rewarding week-long workshop, during which students develop and refine individual actors’ skills as well as ensemble-building skills. The week will culminate in a performance of showcase scenes or a one-act play. Note: Theatre Intensive requires a minimum enrollment of four students.
